Overview: We are seeking a freelance web developer for a short-term project focused on creating a basic event management platform for academic purposes. The ideal candidate will work independently to develop a platform with essential functionalities that allow users to register, create, and view events. Required Experience: Proficiency in web development with a focus on both front-end and back-end technologies. Experience with modern JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for front-end development. Familiarity with a back-end framework such as Node.js, Flask, or similar lightweight frameworks. Capability to set up and use a basic database system like SQLite or MongoDB for data management. A good eye for UI design and usability to create a straightforward and functional user interface without the need for advanced graphics design. Nice-to-Have Experience: Previous work on similar web applications, especially within the event management domain. Understanding of deployment processes, including setting up a server and deploying a web application to hosting services like Heroku or Netlify. Knowledge of web application security best practices to ensure user data protection. Project Goals: The aim is to develop a minimal viable product (MVP) that includes: User registration and login functionality. Event creation feature where users can post new events with details. A homepage that displays a list of upcoming events. A clean, intuitive interface that provides a positive user experience.
